Wrestling
We have finally done it. Yesterday my school's boys wrestling has finally won the state championship since about 40 years ago. As I look back on those two days it seems like it was so long ago even though it was only less than 24 hours ago. It has a surreal aspect to me the incredible 8 or rather the eight people who made it to the second day and then all eight of them placing made it possible. We will be imortalized as the people who broke the long standing curse that has been on us for so long. It feels great that we have finally accomplished our goals and that the wrestling team in general have done so well. The intermediate team won their championship, the junior varsity won theirs and the varsity won ILH and States championship. I love that we have done this not only for ourselves but for all the people who have come before us and will come after us. An honor to all the people, the alums, the coaches and the past wrestlers as well as one to all the younger children and untold generations of my school's wrestlers to come. I am happy and still can't get over it we have accomplished our goals and have done what we have set out to do.
